JustPracticePro new app release

Post by Malcolm Kavalsky » Thu Dec 29, 2016 5:37 pm

It has been 5 years since I first released my application for practicing musicians, JustPractice (currently rated 4 stars on Google's play store)

After a major rewrite, I have a totally new modern version with great support for tablets as well.
Still free of charge, no advertisements, and I use it daily myself and have tailored it to be as easy to use and useful as possible.
Search for "JustPracticePro" on Google Play, and let me know how it goes.

The basic premise of this application is, Plan your Practice, and practice your plan. You define your weekly plan i.e. each piece you want to practice, your goal, how long each day, etc. The application will show you your progress, and help you stay true to your goal.

You have many practice tools included, a timer, metronome, audio and video recorder, and notes for each practice session.
Here is a screenshot of the main screen:

The first tab shows your practice for each day of the month

Sliding to the right, you see your weekly view:

Choosing one of the rows, will open the actual practice session activity, which looks like this:

These are just some of the screens. If you have a tablet, then I make use of the extra space as well.

Enjoy!

Cool. I'll try this one out and let you know what I think of it. Been looking for something exactly like this for some time.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.

Are you thinking about making this app available on iTunes? It would be awesome...:)

Sorry, but no plan for supporting iPhones, as well.
It is too much work for me, and more especially I have issues with Apple's relationship with developers.
I would suggest you get the cheapest android phone from China ( around $60) , and dedicate it to your music practice. It can replace your metronome, recording device, guitar tuner and almost anything else you use for practicing.
No pain, no pain.

Looks really interesting Malcolm. :)

:merci: for taking the time to make it available to others.

I built a version of what you built for the iPhone. It was called PracticeMusic. I spent a year building it but could never figure out a way to make any money from it so I have abandoned it. Oh well.

I built this for my own use, and have refined it over the years.
It combines two of my passions, music and programming.
I just enjoy the creation itself, and am happy to share it with others.
No pain, no pain.

Downloaded, will give it a shot. I've been using "Time Timer" for Android with success, but this looks interesting.

Edit: Comments deleted.

I am an idiot and have been using the wrong app. Will start over and try this one... It looks a lot like the one I tried but with some of the features I felt it lacked. I think I will like it even better.
