Favorite BWV 995 Recordings?

Post by Carey » Mon Mar 20, 2017 2:31 pm

Mine is David Tanenbaum's, on his CD 'Lute Masterworks'. Another one I like is Luigi Attademo's, which is more spontaneous
sounding. And you?

Please tell me on which LP or CD recording Bream released BWV 995? I cannot find reference to it.

Bream never recorded Bach's BWV 995 (or if he did, it was never released...).

To answer the OP's question: on six-string I'd have to go with Ricardo Gallen (Sunnyside Records, 2013). On multi-bass string guitar, I'd propose Goran Sollscher on Deutsche Grammaphon. And on lute, Nigel North (Linn Records).
