A Growth on John Williams's Right Hand?

Post by Altophile » Thu Jul 06, 2017 1:09 am

Am I seeing things, or did John Williams once have a growth on his right hand?

Probably just a ganglion cyst. Benign, temporary.

Yes, that definitely looks like something on his hand. Thanks for sharing the link.

Yes, that was a ganglion, was operated on years ago.

Ah, a ganglion, I should have guessed as an old roommate had one of those.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity:-)

Some might think you're kidding, but, if I recall correctly, that's exactly what my old roommate's doctor did, i.e. whacked it with something and it was history! Of course, JW's was much larger than my old roommate's.

A Growth on John Williams's Right Hand
Sounds like something I'd see in a National Enquirer headline on the newsstand while I'm checking out at the grocery store. :lol:

"POSSESSED BY AN ALIEN! ...the alien brain is in his hand!!!!"

Sorry, John. Couldn't help myself. :lol:

Must be a common thing. I've known a few people with it.

There's an old joke about that;
After his GP offered to whack his cyst with a bible, a man goes for a 2nd ominion from a specialist. He tells him what the GP had planned to do, and how he thought it sounded an old-fashioned way to carry on. The specialist says he is appalled about such an outdated suggestion from the GP; in this day and age, he says, we should be using a text from any of the World's major religions. 😉

:lol: That's a good one. I'm curious about Williams needing surgery though. Must not have been a textbook case. :mrgreen:

Indeed. I noticed it when I met JW backstage in 1971.

Years ago I got rid of a ganglion cyst on my hand by using a heavy book.
