He plays on Torres SE 153. It is listed in the Romanillos book on Torres, although one of the last guitars that Torres made and perhaps never completed by him. Scale length is 650 mm's. One of the largest of the Torres models.

It's exactly 650mm. Romanillios has an entry for it in his book: SE 153, labelled 1892. "The bridge and fingerboard appear to be replacements".

Carles plays with nails. He uses both nail and sometimes flesh for the thumb, mostly flesh.

I know that. In fact, I mention it earlier in this thread. We can't all be perfect ;-)

Does he have a website, I can't find any way to contact him regarding buying his arraignments.

Here's an unlisted video of Carles playing a similar concert to the long one at the start of this thread. I think it is unlisted because he has a few memory lapses, and the strings go wildly out of tune in a few places (avoid octaves!). I'm told it was the first concert with the strings which date from before 1920. I get the feeling he is a little bit nervous about the guitar and the strings. That said, there is some magnificent playing. The Sor is the highlight for me, though the opening Guerau is also wonderful.

I don't think so. I don't think he's one for self promotion.

He should have ended the concert with a guitar smash :) In all seriousness, that's some nice sound. Does this guy have an everlasting supply of vintage gut strings? Has he tried Damian strings?

Gut strings are easy to get hold of, but they do cost more than nylon. I think he changes the first two, but is trying to hold on to the third.

Did we lose the video...watched it this morning...well the first half and thought I'd come back to it? His playing on that Torres with the gut strings is wonderful...quite moving really...just feels so right. Thanks for the link!
