Oh yes. I didn't know M1, but M2 seems to have been a major improvement.

Lets just say it could do what it could do, but I found it seriously limited for what I wanted to do with it, and not worth migrating to for notating guitar with midi. It was great for simple monophonic parts though. M2 has largely rectified this and I see a lot of features in the new versions to make midi input even better.
