A thin neck is 20 - 21 mm, 24 - 25 is certainly thick. Measured at fret 1 but does not include the height of the fret. Somewhere near to 22 mm seems to be the average. Personally I like the average although I'm sure I can cope with 20 mm. I doubt that I would like 25 mm though.

for me, thicker the better.
the brogger is 24mm the whole way
with a nice wide flat spot the whole way.
basically, the neck only changes in its
gradual widening towards the body.
it's very comfortable and i think some
of the heavy weight builders back in
the day had their necks the same thickness from
top to bottom.
(so everyone knows, he carved the
neck this way as per my wishes. I don't
know what he normally does).
anyone have his torres model?
I don't know about the thickness, but
I'd bet it's pretty uniform the whole way.

sorry, I'm rambling....
if at first you don't succeed try again.
then quit.
there's no use being a damn fool about it.

I have a Ramirez 4NE and the neck is 25.5 mm between the nut and first fret. D shaped neck. And my Ramirez George Harrison is also D Shaped, but not as thick. The thickness isn't really too Important to me, but the neck profile in more so to me. I had a Córdoba C9 that was c-shaped, and I didn't really like it as much as the traditional classical shape. Although I do have a flamenco that has a fairly thick C shaped neck and it doesn't bother me at all, but I like a thicker, D shaped neck best.

When you play above the octave the neck has to be abandoned for the fingers to reach the highest notes. Having the thumb lying along the neck rather than across the neck will make high notes easier . So a thick neck will give better thumb contact at the best (vertical ) guitar angle. If you want to look at the frets all the time (not vertical ) that`s another story .
