What tuners is this? - UPDATE: Landstorfer

Postby rinneby » Fri Jan 06, 2017 8:39 am

Dear friends. I wonder if anyone recognize these tuners? (Kohno No.30 - 1975).

UPDATE: Most likely Landstorfer.

All the best from Sweden.

Or Landstorfer. Reischl took over the bizz 1974 and Kohno is made in 1975.
So it could be both.

Interesting. According to an interview over at Guitar Salon, Reischl says that he worked for Landstorfer "Until he died, in 1976. I bought the business from his widow and moved the shop here, to Senserstrasse."

But maybe he took over the business before that, as you say?

How do your tuners perform after all these years?

Hej Jon
My info is from this site
http://www.masterguitars.com/index%2010.html
Maybe they took overt earlier but the deal was made later?

Of course I don´t know about rinnebys but I had Landstorfters in my Rubio 1979-2015(36 years!)
and they had been in Hauser II before that.
So over 50 years in professional use and I did not change them because they were totally worn out.
There was little bit resistance in 5th but all the others were like new.
Very smooth and exact in use, the best machine heads ever had.

They work flawlessly! After some more research I'm pretty sure they are Landstorfer. Thank's everyone.
