Teryks guitar

Post by sv_07 » Mon Mar 06, 2017 8:45 am

Hi, I need you opinion on German/Polish luthier Boguslaw Teryks. I know that his guitars are/were used by Marcin Dylla and Lukasz Kuropaczewski (I know it from another thread). I visited his website and saw an offer of his double top used guitar (spruce/cedar) for 7400 euros. Seems expensive. Is anybody familiar with Teryks' guitars, played one or at least hard somebody playing it?

HI,

I have an acquaintance who plays a Teryks guitar.
If you look online for www(dot)danielbolshoy.com/en/guitars.html you'll see his guitars and his bio to see the calibre of the guy.

Also, to hear the guitar have a look at https://www(dot)youtube.com/watch?v=IxSpnWC9lX4 or
https://www(dot)youtube.com/watch?v=IxSpnWC9lX4&list=RDIxSpnWC9lX4
Any other video where he plays a guitar with an armrest then that'll be the Teryks.

It is a very nice guitar and I know he is very keen on it and they don't come on the market very often which must say something.
Getting better bit by bit, day by day.

I have played few of his guitars. In my opinion they are overpriced. The main problem on these guitars is playability, they are hard to play. :( Other issue was the sound :I don't like it all.It has a big sound but It sounds like "the well".This guitar suits well for classical repeitoire ,not good for latin or spanish pieces. For this price you can buy much better guitars.

I agree with what @Piotr says.

And just for myself: I remember that it may be my personal opinion - there are people who love Teryk's instruments, and there are people who do not.

You have to be a good musician with strong technique to make these guitars sound well. I heard three different players with a Teryks in great concerts, but these Guitars are not for me!
