Actually my Picado I got is the used one. It has got a small penetration on the top but the wood is still in tact. The previous owner covered with clear guard like flamenco guitar guard. I think the new Picado comes around 2500 to 3000 USD. I like it a lot. The playability and workmanship is very nice. You may consider the Picado Concierto DT(double top) model which I see very good condition used one at 6000SGD in Singapore. I wish I could buy it one day.

I have a L Luthier Signature 08 model, AAA solid spruce top with AAA rosewood back and sides which is from Malaysia. The current price may be around 1500USD. I think it is at least on par with my Picado 60. :chitarrista:
Impressive! I assume your Picado 60 comes to around 2500 USD? I've heard quite a bit about L Luthier. Will definitely try to drop by one day to look at it!
http://www.lluthier.com/classical-guitar/signature-08/ . But I saw some website, the retail price now is around 1500USD. Definitely worth to try it out.

Guided by many comments by member forums about their quality and suitability, I recently purchased a Takamine C132.s and a Yamaha g245s. The Tak was $450, and the Yamaha was a Craigslist find for $185. Both are 1977 guitars and in excellent shape.
I love the sounds of both, recognizing that they don't have the same quality as a $5000 luthier built instrument. You can see them played on Youtube to get an approximation of their sound. Anyway, these instruments meet my needs as someone starting classical after being an electric jazz player for several years. Good luck in your search. By the way, there are many interesting posts on the quality of the laminations used in the sides of some guitars, and how they are necessarily inferior to solid sides.
