Good news, I have the complete Yamaha archive now :D
I will think about a way to share the archive to all forum members who are interested in this information.
What kind of information does this archive contain?
The Yamaha guitar archive contains information of more than 1000 Yamaha guitars. It's an Excel sheet with the following columns:
MODEL, YEAR, MSRP_USD, TOP, BACK_SIDES, NECK, FINGERBOARD, BRIDGE, BODY_DEPTH, COLOR, FINISH, TUNING_MACHINE, STRING_LENGTH, NUT_WIDTH, PICKUP, STANDARD_ACCY, NOTES, INT_NOTES
This archive was online for many years but Yamaha decided to remove it from the internet.

I have received lots of PMs in the last two days from many forum members regarding this Yamaha guitar archive. I just sent everyone a mail with the Excel sheet attached. Please let me know if you have requested the archive from me but did not receive any mail.

I sent you a pm but it's hanging out in the outbox. Me too, please.
Thanks
As far as I know a message remains in the outbox until the receiver of the message logs in, and I was not logged in yesterday. But anyway, I have sent you the archive now...

Has anyone found a source for the thin, compensated saddles as used on the GC guitars? Most of mine have been lowered too much. Has anyone experimented with gluing bone shims to the underside of the saddle to raise the action?

Thanks

You can use superglue to glue a rosewood veneer underneath the saddle. Easy to sand to size.

Thanks. I have done this on my Navarro but I seem to notice a slight damping in the sound. I was actually thinking about thoroughly soaking the rosewood shim with superglue to try to increase the hardness, but I haven't tried it yet.

BTW, I've been on a bit of a GC buying spree lately. I added a GC5s, GC5m and a GC5 to my nightly playing options. So far, I am pleasantly surprised by the sound of the GC5s. It has excellent volume, sustain and low mids and also has very respectable brightness for a cedar top.
where do you buy your Yamaha GC guitars?
Can you share some photos of your purchased Yamaha GC5 series..5, 5M, 5S model in this forum.

Hi
Can you send me an MS Excel archive for vintage Yamaha classical guitar C, G, CG, GC series or classical guitars to my email? I had sent you a request in your mail box here?

Thank you
