Yay Fred! Congrats. That's very exciting. Looking forward to checking back tonight to see more pic's and a report. That is if you can draw yourself away from it long enough to share.

Review,

The playability for the left and right hand is excellent and I don’t need to push my right hand hard in order to produce the sound I want to hear. The Intonation is 100% accurate and one of the most important features for me. I asked Richard about his approach as to how he is able to produce good intonation and with his response and expertise on the subject I was sold last year.

The trebles are sweet, sweet, sweet full and tight with delicate decay of each note. Poli wrote about the sweet trebles many times in this forum and I agree. The basses are not boomy at all as matter fact they are very smooth and as loud as you want them. All the notes are very consistent in all the registers with the same sustain through the fingerboard. One request for this guitar last year was that the 1st string Bb on the 6th fret must have the same sustain as the other notes on the fingerboard. Well guess what? Done, excellent sustain and that is a win for Richard and me.

No need to talk about the finish because Richard is a perfectionist as most luthiers in his class. And you can find the pictures of his guitar in this forum and this cypress thread.

I played this guitar about four hours with a break of an hour. Richard Reynoso is a gifted luthier with high standards and high quality control on his guitars.

When I think of this guitar my mind associates this guitar with the Ferrari 488 GTB. This guitar could go as fast as you want it and comfortable too. And with the knowledge that guitar is a beast waiting for you to unleash it to the fullest potential at any time.

Hey Justfun, how are you getting on with the new guitar? I'm a seriously considering commissioning a build based on the reviews and videos I've seen of Richard's guitars.

One question - why did you choose a 655mm scale length?

Hi Rasqeo,

"how are you getting on with the new guitar?" Is a dream come true. The guitar sings with beautiful voices and is just a dream to play. Last night, I played my Casimiro Lozano and Richard Reynoso blows away that guitar in many many ways. The smell is just out of this world...
About the 655mm I'm 6:02 tall and my fingers are a little longer than average. Hey I like 655 better than 660 or 667: )
About Richard Reynoso,
Communication with Richard has been great. If you send him a text message hi will respond to you right away or when he is not working on his guitars. After receiving the guitar he has reached out to me many times via text and cell.
Rasqeo, I don't have a Cedar top and this is an excellent excuse to get one from Richard.

Thanks Fred, good to hear you had such a positive buying experience. There is nothing like the smell of a new guitar!

I'm also over 6' tall and have always found 650mm to be a bit cramped. I also prefer a wider nut so I'm thinking a 655mm scale and 53mm nut might be the way to go.

I can confirm that Richard is a lovely guy, a delight to work with. His guitars play beautifully and sound great. I am glad to have one of his spruce/cypress instruments.

Looks like the recording will happen tomorrow, in the mean time a small review.
I must say this guitar is magical like Poli used describe it... the Duende effect. : )

Hi Fred

A lovely compilation video showing the versatility of the instrument. You must be happy.

That is now the third spruce/cypress guitar that Richard has made videos of. They sound remarkably similar in tone and character. It is great that Richard is achieving such consistency.

Regards
Peter

Hi Fred,
I agree with Peter. The guitar sounds great and looks beautiful. I really like the quick response I hear in that video - I'd guess that reflects the cypress b/s.

Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Chris
