Green tuner buttons?

Post by rinneby » Fri Mar 03, 2017 8:38 am

Our dear friend Brusko showed me his amazing guitar with tuners made by Jorg Graf. I wonder if any of you know where to find similar buttons? I've asked Rubner and they don't have them. Thank you in advance.

Actually, these green buttons are made of Jade. I just had Jorg make me a set for one of my guitars, and they are really great. Jorg is a terrific guy and an incredible craftsman.

Wowwwwww......Jade.....This is the first time I've heard of tuner buttons being made with this material. BTW Jon the pic that you put out shows a set of tuners that are very ornamental, the dragon design with the slotted Jade buttons & that greenish colour sheen on the tuners as well.....very very elaborate. Its got very Oriental/Chinese influence. Must cost a lot.....so you're going "green"?  :)

Hi guys, for those of you who are into gems and jades, the material used is Nephrite Jade mined in Canada where there are lots of Nephrite deposits. As you know Nephrite is the 'softer' type of Jade, compared to the super-hard Jadeite and for the most part, it is also cheaper--however not always. Some Siberian and Canadian Nephrite stones can be highly saturated (especially towards Green) and translucent and will therefore command high prices.

Anyway, what Jorg did with these buttons is nothing short of amazing. The craftsmanship, of course, in mind-blowing and to top it off just a great professional guy to communicate with. Never leaves you hanging, replies to emails within the same day.
