I have an Alhambra 10C that I rarely play. I was debating whether to sell it, but I decided to keep it. I am thinking of installing a hidden piezo pickup system (K&K Pure Classical or JJB 430C) with 4 passive piezo sensors adhered to the inside of the guitar, below the saddle. This would require me to drill a single hole on the side of the guitar, where the jack would come out. These are passive pickups w/o preamp.
Has anyone installed such a pickup on a classical? I just put one in a steel string guitar and it sounds fantastic. My only concern with nylon strings is whether it would sound weird/two dimensional.
As much as it pains me to drill a 1/4" hole on the side of the guitar, it shouldn't be a big deal, right? I am assuming I would go right through the end block for a clean install.
