Ryoji Matsuoka No.60 S - Any info?

Post by rinneby » Mon Mar 20, 2017 11:42 am

I know quite a lot about Ryoji Matsuoka guitars, but never seen this particular model. I took a chance and won an auction. Any info on this one? I suppose S stands for "Solid" or maybe "Spruce" - But most of the Matsuoka guitars from this era were solid top and spruce anyway. Maybe it indicates it's all solid?

Short scale? Looks from the pics as though it might be. Does it have internal side braces? The all solid Matsuoka guitars I've seen do, but most M60's from this era I've seen had laminate jacaranda back and sides.

Hopefully not ;) would be pretty cool though. No internal pictures right now I'm afraid.
