The article mentions another interesting paper instrument. When Henrique was a kid he want to learn the Surdo (a Brazilian bass drum) but it was too heavy for him. His mother rebuilt it using paper for the body.
“Quando era pequeno eu tocava surdo, mas o instrumento era muito pesado. A minha mãe, que trabalhava com papel, resolveu usar este material para fazer a carcaça de um surdo mais leve”, comenta o luthier.
Admittedly it doesn't say anything about how it turned out.

As I've understood from the article, fretboard is made of wood, neck is made of paper.
My concern would also be with durability. Only time can tell...
In the article, towards the end, there is this phrase "...outros componentes, como o braço, são de madeira convencional.". It translates as: "other components, such as the neck, are (made) of conventional wood."

Yes, but I am not sure the arm is conventional, might be a mistake by the writer, wanted to mean the fretboard. Edson Lopes in the video sais the arm is by paper. It seems by paper from image, but I am not sure. I will try to ask the luthier personally.

I think it is pretty clear in the article
"O violão confeccionado por Henrique Pinto tem laterais, fundo e tampo feitos com material de papietagem – outros componentes, como o braço, são de madeira convencional."
Sides, back and top are made of paper, everything else is conventional wood.

That's interesting.

I guess it's similar to using other composite materials like carbon fibre.

I wonder if in my lifetime a non-subjective "quality index" will be developed for guitars so we could compare a paper guitar to a traditional one.

So, we did choose between cedar and spruce, in the future we may be choosing between "Washington Post" or "Playboy"
