Acoustics part, I have read a lot of papers about the instrumental acoustics. when doing this guitar, has been initially aware of the guitar frequency response characteristics. Two years later to really start the whole synthesis, a complete guitar to make.
Ah yes, but as Yogi Berra said, "In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is."

All the best,

Hi Brooks, my personal opinion, today, when a person learn musical instrument making, if he want to get effective progress in a short time (practice), must first learn acoustics and material (theory). Through practice to get accumulated experience (quality) is very slow and depend on a large number of making (quantity) , this is actually a fuzzy mathematical principle. People see Hauser's success, but forget his whole life, a lot of work of guitar making, to get accumulation of experience. Best wishes! Yanguang

Hi Yanguang,
Yes indeed, and through the patient accumulation of that experience and a lifetime of dedicated work - and no doubt also some natural gifts - Hauser ended up as one of the most celebrated guitar makers in history, and a created a sound that became a holy grail for luthiers and players around the world. Maybe he would have discovered that sound sooner had he studied "acoustics and material theory", maybe not. But he would still have had to build many instruments and be exposed to the designs of Ramirez/Torres before he produced the famous 1937 guitar that ended up on stages around the world in Segovia's hands. Though I may have missed your point I'm not sure, since you seem to be agreeing with me. :)

Hi Tomzooki, welcome! Yes, this is my first guitar, but I did it twice, the first time I am not satisfied, so I saw and open it, again again... Best wishes! :D
Hi Yanguang, impressive for a first guitar! Congratulations!

I'd like to know more about what was done as far as "saw and open it, again again". Any pics documenting that?
