of course, in any case a scale a length change would reset all frets ( so practically a new fretborard is needed )
The reason I asked was that in your post with the pictures of your Ramirez 1a converted to 650, you mentioned everything that was done in detail but did not mention a new fret board. I see the bridge was removed, shaved and glued in its new position. I am wondering why the luthier who did the work did not take the opportunity to convert it to a 12 hole tie block to increase string break angle?

I posted the pictures of the Ramirez change to 640 with the moved bridge, not the OP. I believe the OP just had the action lowered and the string spacing reduced, even though he asked about changing the scale initially. Why German Vazquez Rubio didn't make it a 12-hole tie block on the one I saw and posted the pictures of, I don't know.
