Hi
glad you liked it Misfit & Robert.
Robert there are a few easier Dowland pieces. Try Orlando Sleepeth, Mr Dowland's Midnight & Mistris Winter's Jumpe. Of course none of Dowland's compositions are total beginners pieces but these are less complex than his more developed tunes. Some of them are easier with the 3rd string tuned doown to F# which puts you in relative lute tuning (put a capo on the 3rd fret and you will be at lute pitch). Hope you have fun playing them,
Steve

Hi Steve,
I've watched the other two Dowland Video's you posted a while back. Very enjoyable, real nice lively sound you have to your playing. Have you ever done 'The Earl of Essex's Galliard', if not, could this maybe a suggestion for your next posting? Would really love to hear your take on that one.

hi Linda
glad you liked my other Dowland videos. I haven't done The Earl of Essex yet. I'll have a look and see what I can do - I like a challenge!

So beautifully done. John Dowland would be pleased with your interpretation. Could you tell me who made your lute?

Many thanks for your response and suggestions re some relatively simple John Dowland pieces, Steve. I will certainly try them out!

Meanwhile I have located two other items which appear to be quite simple - "Now, O now I needs must part" and "Tarleton's Resurrection"
I found these two on the following site: http://www.*** Site blocked for copyright reasons ***.com/Dowland-PDF- ... -lewis.htm
There are quite a few other Dowland pieces, for CG, there too.

Regards,

Robert.
