Sanz, Gaspar - Canarios - D05 Video

Post by guitarspace81 » Mon Oct 10, 2016 5:53 am

Hello,

I'm a classical guitarist from Seoul, and today would like to share my video,
playing 'Canarios' by Gaspar Sanz. It is one of my all-time favorite peices and as I really love it, I added a bit of introduction to the piece. I tried recording it multiple times, but couldn't get the outcome that I have pictured in my mind. But I do hope someday I get there. As always, thanks for letting me share! :)

Hello ,

Your interpretation takes a lot of liberties with the original score.

I think the title should be: personal variations on the theme of Gaspar Sanz Canarios.
keep hope !

Hi Isabelle,

Thank you for your advice. It's just a little intro, so I guess i really didn't think of it that way. :)

Wow, very nice playing! It almost has the energy of a flamenco guitar piece! Thanks.

Yes a lot of liberties but I find it refreshing, I have a hard time picturing a baroque guitarist playing a piece like the canarios completely true to the score, I rather liked you variations toying with the theme. I would however like a more stable pulse seeing as it's a dance, rhytmic variations are always fun but when the pulse get's away from you the variations lose meaning.

Dear Yulius!

I like it ALL without exception - including the introduction and your tapping variations, the guitar strap and even the teddy bear on the left shoulder :)

thank you, its one of my favorite Canarios recordings now!

BTW - whats the strap you are using? I started to think that its not bad idea to play while standing, would like to try it myself.

Dear psmi,

Thank you so much for enjoying my music! :D
As for the strap I'm using, another person had asked about it before too, and I put up some pictures in answer to how I attached it to my guitar, so please check it out at:

Hope you have a wonderful new year! :casque:
