Weiss, S. L. - Allemande in D major - Baroque Lute Video

An allemande in D Major from the Grussau manuscript (PL-WU RM 4136 2003). Listed as possibly by Sylvius Leopold Weiss and assigned the provisional sonata number SW90. The allemande is of high quality and Weiss-like although I'm less convinced by the other movements. MANY errors in the MS of note position and notes to the bar requiring mulitple corrections by me (some of course are just best guesses). Performed by Daniel Shoskes on a 13 course Rutherford baroque lute.

Beautiful playing Daniel! I think the Allemandes of Weiss are often such stunning pieces, and he so often manages to make a major key sound so poignant. May I ask what kind of stringing you are using here? It sounds so rich!

Glad you enjoyed it. I have nylgut on the trebles, copper wound basses (on extra thick nylgut core) and KF octaves
