Nice video ..... but the real sounds and the 1800 colors to me are these.
The floor is flat, Forte is Forte the Resolute is Resolute the decreasing is decreasing, the Vibrato is Vibrato the Rubato is Stolen, the Clear and Clear is the melody sings like to sing.

Nice video, but I thought we were discussing Giuliani Op 15.

If you want to place a nice video where they play Giuliani ..... dynamics are .... we are talking about philology or what .... I think we understand the music of two different worlds,
Interpretation, tone, color too different
so it is useless to continue, we are too far apart.

If all goes well, I’ll be re-recording the Op. 15 first movement soon. There are some tweaks I’d like to make. Chief among them, I want to bump the tempo up a tad. Currently, it drags a bit. I’d prefer to peg it a smidge above 140.

Regarding the recent posts, I’m familiar with Ian Watt’s Youtube performance. While there’s much to admire, ultimately it’s not to my taste. One thing I dislike is the detaché approach to the accompaniment. To me, this sounds cramped and fussy. (It’s an effect that works better on piano than guitar.) Also, his basic tempo is too variable for me, wavering between 145 to 170. My tempo also drifts about more than I’d like, but not to that degree.

By the way, “Souvenir de Russie” is my favorite Sor duo.

Okay, here’s my new recording of the Op. 15 Allegro spirito. Just recorded it yesterday.

Youtube

I like the brisker and steadier tempo—it gives a more “classical” approach to this piece. And I rejiggered some of the ornaments to better effect.

Working on the third movement now. After that, it’s on to the second.
