Some months ago, I posted here a video of one of the Six Irish Airs op.125, Garyowen.
I return frequently to this set of pieces arranged by Giuliani, dedicated to an Irish student/friend, William Kenny. It was written at a time Giulliani had already left Vienna and struggled to make a living in Italy.
The fifth piece, "My lodging is on the cold ground" is perhaps the most lyrical of the set.
For this recording, I played a romantic guitar, "Foetisch Fréres", early XXth century.
