Cummings, Ryan - op.01/01 Images - Video

Post by Ryan Cummings » Thu Mar 16, 2017 2:28 pm

Hi everyone. It's been a while since I've posted anything and I'm glad to be back to share my music.

"Images" is the first in a three-piece collection called "Songs For Krys, op.1" that I wrote for my daughter.

Watching my little girl play and enjoy life over the years inspired me to write "Images". I tried my best to capture the innocent playfulness of her personality by basing this piece off of a common children's tune that you should recognize within the first few seconds (think: nanny, nanny, boo, boo).

Hope you enjoy and, as always, I welcome your opinions and feedback.

Unusual harmonic construction. Holds the interest. Very nicely played.

Thanks for your feedback, Dave. When I compose I always try to do something a little different. With this piece I wanted something that felt fleeting and hard to grasp because I was attempting to capture the way I feel looking back at my daughter's younger days.
