Matthew, I think all of your particular musical gifts are so well suited to this piece—especially your sensitive ear, which translates into such sensitive playing. Above all, your tone is gorgeous and your phrasing so well thought out and executed. Well done!

On a side note, what source are you using for this piece? There are so many variances in performance because of discrepancies between the "Urtext" (though, if I'm not mistaken there are multiple handwritten versions of this piece), Barrios's own recording of the piece, and the published editions. Thanks for sharing this!

Superb performance Matthew! :bravo:

Lovely tone, phrasing, choice of tempi, dynamics - everything! You also know how to use rubato, in a subtle, but highly effective way. (Something many players of your generation, and younger, frankly don't - and when I mean don't - I mean they barely use it at all! ).

Your style of playing is so refreshing and sounds wonderful! :casque: I think many people could learn from you.

:merci:

That was beautiful! I enjoyed your Allegro Solemne a lot, sounds very natural. I hope I'll reach that level someday :)

I am glad that so many of you are enjoying the video and more important the interpretation. Nice to know that there are lots of people listening out for detail and more subtle approaches.

Matthew :-)

Amazing, just simply amazing. And how appropriate to play "La Catedral" in such a beautiful "Mini Catedral". Thank you so much for sharing this video Matthew. You are one of my favourite guitarists and I feel honoured to be able to watch this.
