[PDF] Fong, Rich - Habañero, Opus 1

Post by oski79 » Tue Mar 14, 2017 5:48 am

Here is my first real composition. My wife and I took up ballroom dancing about a year and a half ago, and I've been wanting to write something something to dance to. Tango and Rumba are my favorites, and I think they're both represented here.

Many thanks to my teacher, Eric Cabalo, for all his guidance in helping me understand where I was going with it, properly harmonizing it, fingering and expression suggestions, and more. Hope you enjoy it. I look forward to the feedback. Don't hold back. I'm a moderator, I can take it.

Yes, that's where the piece goes back to a minor for the repeat

A nice little ditty.
Lean your body forward slightly to support the guitar against your chest, for the poetry of the music should resound in your heart.

After months of tweaking, here is the final (?) version, attached at the top of the thread. I filled in the bass line here and there, and improved the left hand fingerings.
