Thanks,
The guitar sounds gentle like a harp. Also good to play a Irish piece without having to change to dadgad.

Thanks for the nice feed back,

I'm very honored that a couple members have recorded this arrangement for us. I would like to change the ending to the way Aryea did it, viewtopic.php?f=20&t=42790&hilit=star+of+county+down
If I figure out how to edit my posts, I will change it some day.

There is also this nice recording, viewtopic.php?f=39&t=52998

Cheers, AO

I just stumbled upon this post and really appreciate it. I'm an Irish citizen and love to play the traditional songs but it's often hard to find good arrangements for guitar that are not in DADGAD. Thanks Arthur! I'll give it a try.

Browsing around on the forum I found this pdf.
I've always liked the song. I'll try and see if I can play it.
I definitely will have to go very slowly at the higher notes, to find them on the fret board
But I guess I'll just try.

I have difficulty judging the grade of pieces just by looking at the notes.
Anyone can help me out here? Or just with this one, I'm wondering when I tried (an failed or not)
what the grade was.

So I tried...and could play it, very very slowly. It does not sound that good yet but with some practive I'll be getting there. For me it is a good piece to practice getting used to higher positions. There are a few in the piece, but not too many.

So it is a D04 piece, anyone?

Thanks a gain for the score, its fun to try them out!

Thanks, AO. Great arrangement - I am really enjoying learning this piece. It is in my Rise Up Singing book of folk songs.
