[PDF] Debussy, Claude - Clair de Lune (early intermediate)

Postby mverive » Thu Oct 06, 2011 4:25 pm

This transcription is my first attempt at Claire de Lune. I have seen different transcriptions, but most have either been too simple (and uninteresting), or well beyond my capabilities. I figured this is at an "early intermediate" level (moderators - feel free to reclassify if needed).

I haven't added any fingerings, but most of them are pretty self-evident. The triplets in measures 15-18 are probably easier played in 6th position than 1st position.

Enjoy!

Thank you, Mike! I love Debussy and like your transcription very much! Easy for the fingers but still a challenge to be played well! :-)

Mike,

Nice arrangement, but still some work (for me) to make it sing. I've played this on the flute many times and it is very nice on the classical. The guitar is very haunting, something this piece is.

This is quite a beautiful piece and I enjoyed the video presentation very much!

Thank you Mike for posting the pdf file!

I am a little confused though, it is only half a page of music.

Please forgive me if I've misunderstood the posts and what to expect, but I was attracted to the key signature of C
( now there's something you don't admit to everyday! ) since the version I have is in the key of E major.

Is there a fuller version?

with gratitude

An excellent transcription (at a mid-intermediate level, I think). Many thanks.

I haven't figured out the arpeggios at the end, but will post a more complete copy when I have it. All of the guitar transcriptions that I have seen also lack the ending arpeggios, so at least I'm in good company!

Thank you for the prompt reply Mike, I really appreciate it!

No hurry, I have a very full plate of pieces to work through.
Sometimes, however, I get a wee bit distracted....

All the best!

Thanks for this. It's great as far as it goes. I'll search around for a fuller version and see if I can glue them together!
