Thanks tateharmann !!

You should try to build a guitar ! Unless you want to build a Ukulele because you love ukuleles, I would advice against starting with one. It is not much easier than a guitar. Get a good guitar kit (such as lmii), a good book or two, Robert Obrien or Bogdanovich videos, and 1 year later you will have a very decent guitar.

The only problem, that any amatheur luthier can confirm, is that it is a highly addictive activity. You have been warned ! :D

That looks just excellent. I like the choice of woods.

Thanks Ricardo for the tip!

I do like ukulele and already have one.

What I really want is a baroque guitar so maybe I should start there :)

Hello friends !

An update in my baroque lute build thread - I just finished the top.
First, after joining the two halves, I brought the top to its final thickness.

Then, came the rose carving...

Very far from perfect, but good enough....

Then I cut the braces and brought them to their final dimensions:

And glued them all:

After shaping the braces, and some cleaning, the top is done.

Thank you for this thread Ricardo. Very few ¨tutorials¨about lute building in the internet. Interesting to follow, might try it someday too.
