Let's write a story... 6 words at a time

This is an exercise in creative thinking for the online students. The idea is to write a story between you, contributing just 6 words each at a time. The rules differ slightly from the similar topic in the Café. In this version you should copy and paste the whole of the preceding part of the story and add your six words at the end. After a month, an ending will be added and the thread locked. Then a new one will be started up. Here we go:
