Paganini, Niccolò - Ghiribizzo No. 12 - Andante

Post by tateharmann » Mon Sep 08, 2014 2:34 pm

I love these little Ghiribizzi. They're nice melodic minis for amateurs like me :)

Guitar is by Joseph Redman. Thanks for listening!

That's a really lovely piece by Paganini. You play really well, I think you are too modest with you defining yourself as an amateur. I don't see you as an amateur. To me, if one plays well whatever he plays, he's no amateur. :)

I have heard some people who have studied at Julliard and I thought they were rubbish. Sometimes I really fail to see why certain people are so overrated :)

Thanks for the kind words :) I usually think of myself as an amateur because I shy away from the more difficult pieces in the repertoire. I've always thought it better to play easy pieces well than difficult ones poorly. No one wants to hear me (or anyone) fumble through Asturias lol.

You are a clever player. Believe it or not I have read the above said by the best masters, in various books, for example the pianist Carl Czerny. :)

Thanks - yep, I firmly believe in this principle. But that doesn't mean that I don't want to progress. I do practice more difficult pieces and record my progress to make them sound good some day. When that day comes, maybe I will post those recordings here haha :)

First of all I congratulate you too ..... I love Paganini,
but I do not agree when you say that the pieces of Paganini are easy, it depends on how you perform, if you analyze well the song you will realize that it is full of poetry and is likely to be interpreted in many ways.
Ultimanmente am studying many pieces by Paganini and I think there is all the poetry and the Italian Romanticism 800 ...... are not hard to read, but if you think about the technical virtuosity of Paganini and how should perform these songs on the guitar, c ' it is almost to be afraid.
Anyway I tell you again ... good and continues to love this great artist Genovese.
If you are interested I registered the Minuet n. XXIII ..... and put on the forum .... this is a clear example of not difficult to read but of great technical virtuosity and poetry dictated by the composer Paganini

Hi Max,

Sorry for the misunderstanding here! I also love Paganini - he's one of my favorite composers. What I meant is that the set of Ghiribizzi aren't too difficult.

There are a LOT of his other works that are very difficult :)
