Greetings from Annapolis, Maryland

Post by lgherb » Sun Mar 26, 2017 1:17 pm

I am a new player starting later in life. I grew up in New Orleans a house full of music (my parents were huge dixieland jazz buffs and took us to see Louis Armstrong perform in 1969).

For a myriad of reasons, I started then stopped learning guitar a few times in the past but I am pretty committed this time around.

Hope everyone has an amazing day, and I look forward to soaking in the collective knowledge here.

I love Annapolis, my mom used to live in Churchton right on the Chesapeake bay. Skippers pier!

Thanks, guys.

A little more about me.

I am picking up guitar in my early 50's after a few previous undisciplined attempts. Right now I am teaching myself but I plan on taking lessons very soon. The good news is that I am keeping up with trying to learn longer than I have in any of my previous attempts and actually feel like I am making progress.

I own a steel string acoustic-electric, a hollow body electric, and a solid body electric. They are all decent but not great guitars. I plan on investing in a very good classical to be my premier instrument.

Until that happens, I plan on using the lessons and exercises on this site to help push my learning forward.
