Hello from Salinas California

Post by Wally » Tue Jun 13, 2017 5:08 am

My name is Wally and I've been playing classical guitar for 31 years. I originally was taught by my grandfather who in El Salvador took lessons from a pupil of Augustin Barrios Mangore. My grandfather saw Barrios rehearse at a theater when he worked as a janitor. Years after that a pupil of Barrios taught my grandfather. At 91 years later old my grandfather still plays and well for someone his age. After I studied with my grandfather I was a pupil of Scott Morris in Cerritos California. For years I stopped playing after I was distracted with other types of music.
Recently I started playing again. I bought a new guitar and I'm back on the horse so to speak.

I'm happy to be here and I hope to learn and help in any way I can.

Wally
