Hello from London

Post by Urbanarcher11 » Thu Oct 05, 2017 7:43 pm

Hi All :D ,

Great to be a part of this forum, am a lover of music. I used to play the violin and guitar, mostly all self taught but probably never to the level I wish I could. While the songs I used to play were mostly from the 50's, 60's I think I have slowly been gravitating towards classical music. So after a break of about 8 years or so and a change of career and country and I am now back to learning the guitar but this time more solidly, perhaps the level that I can express the melodies I hear in my mind when I hear some instrumental music at some shop or television.

While not playing guitar during this time I have been listening to several players play pieces from concierto de aranjuez, Concierto Andaluz, Bizets Habanera (Bizet), Moonlight Sonata, Meditation (Jules Massenet), Home (Andrew York), Marche Irlandesa (Narciso Yepes), the list can go on..... who in a way have compelled me to pick up playing the guitar again.

So I have recently started playing guitar (an old laminated acoustic) but I am hoping to get some guidance on how to learn the Classical Guitar, how to find a good brand to buy, perhaps even find a classical guitar teacher in due course.

So without making this too long ...nice to meet you all.

Hello from NYC!

So glad to hear that you took more interest in learning classical music! There’s so much to learn and so much to listen to, if only we had time to play them all.

Best,
Phoebe
