Hello from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi

Post by Stickyhead » Fri Oct 27, 2017 1:06 am

Hi all,
I am looking forward to being part of this forum. I have played mediocre rhythm guitar for years and never really have progressed to a skill level that I have been happy with, learning classical guitar has always been something I wanted to do but just never got around to it. I finally picked up a nylon string Yamaha and have registered with a local classical teacher. I have only been to a couple of classes so I am just barely getting started and hoping my progression is not to slow.

I am looking for all the help I can get, I'm going to need it

Hey Stickyhead, lol on your name. I too am very new and doing the search around.
Take care and keep up the practice. Even when it drives you bonkers. That's the great thing about music
to me. The complete distraction from other forms of stress.
Peace

What's up Stickyhead? Welcome to the forum. Like many players, I too started out somewhere besides classical. I was a metal head. Still am. Always will be. In addition, even when I DID discover classical, I had less than ideal instructors. It was a few years after that that I FINALLY found a competent instructor to guide me through remedial training. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. That was YEARS ago, and here I am! Because of my "late start" and remedial training, I remember VIVIDLY and EXACTLY how I learned to play. And I've been helping others for decades.

Anyway...welcome to the group. I hope you find it as enjoyable and rewarding as I do.
