Greetings From Washington DC

Post by Hamid Hariri » Fri Dec 22, 2017 7:22 am

Hello Everyone,
I'm 54 years old and live just outside of Washington DC USA. I'm here because of my bucket list #17- Learn to read music and #18- Learn to play the classical guitar. So it goes without saying that I'm a rank beginner. I just picked up a Yamaha C40 and bought a book titled "Classical Guitar Method" by Jason Waldorn. Needless to say it is going rather slow (but that is okay). Anyway I think what i need is some structure in my studies and hope to get that here by following along the lessons provided.

Also, just want to say thanks to the folks behind "Classical Guitar". The time, effort and resources they contribute to this site for the benefit of people like me are much appreciated.

Best Regards,
Hamid

Hamid
Welcome!
DC is a great place to pursue #17 & #18 on your bucket list. Life is short. If you have yet to discover it, find Middle C Music store & introduce yourself to Myrna Sislen...if/when you decide you want/need to pick up the pace a little

Thanks for your message CathyCate. Funny you should mention the Middle C. They are located in Wisconsin avenue. No? I work just a few blocks south of them and pass their store from time to time. I will be sure to pop in one of these days.

Cheers
