Going off topic slightly: I love this forum when a guitarist of Tavi's standing can answer questions from fellow members with such modesty and down-to-earthness.
Remember Anthony Weller, please help. Contact myself or Aaron Green for details.

I watch and listen to Tavi on youtube all the time. To me, he is one of the best in the world.

Justfun: I think it irrelevant to this thread but since you asked it is a 2004 Jean Rompre spruce/Madagascar. It is similar to many higher end instruments that their owners find irreplaceable.

A Tavi autograph on this would maybe double the price ... no?

I also do appreciate you coming on to this forum & educating us about guitars & Classical Music :bravo:

He's the best in the world. I mean, once you get up there, it's splitting hairs. You can't go wrong even if you have only Tavi for the rest of your classical guitar listening.

Tavi,

The Ramirez 1A is a superb guitar. Thanks for the video recordings of it. And the many other records on YouTube. Also much enjoyed.

By the way, I ended up with the Malapanis #64, spruce/birdseye maple back and sides.. You may be interested to know that I put a fossil mammoth saddle on the guitar and that this greatly improved the sound quality. The guitar also now has a better set-up which eliminated a very minor tendency towards bass buzz when driven. I almost resold the #64 but I am very glad I did not, because the instrument played in especially well. So well in fact that I think that if I had to choose between selling the Malapanis #64 or the Malapanis #31 (also now mine), I'd be powerfully tempted to keep the #64.

Did the 1A sell?

I'm just curious, how much did the guitar cost originally? And are you planning on purchasing another one with the same quality? It's truly a beautiful instrument...and you have a great deal of talent.
Thanks,
David :casque:
