Today I'm listing the guitar that started it all for luthier Robert Ruck. This traditional Flamenco model was built by Ruck using only hand tools in his grandfather's home in Milwaukee during late 1966 with completion in early 1967.

The guitar has been inspected and refreshed by Robert Ruck and is in excellent playing condition. The link to photos below includes a two page letter from Ruck discussing the history, condition and repairs made to the guitar.

This is truly an important guitar in American luthiery, but it's also a wonderful sounding and playing instrument that's meant to be enjoyed. Those that have inspected the guitar have all been favorably impressed with the build quality and tone.

Please email with any questions or to set up an appointment to view the guitar. Thanks for looking!

Regards,
Tim

This is a really cool guitar and would be a great piece of American lutherie history. I'm surprised Ruck doesn't own it!

Thanks Chris. I agree!

It's a blast to play old #1. It weighs nothing and Robert set it up to play great. He enjoyed the time spent with the guitar, but I think he has plenty of Rucks to play!

Best,
Tim
