I have made a fair number of maple guitars in the past, and quite a few in the past couple of years. I really have enjoyed exploring the sound of maple and over the summer wanted to make one more, here it is - the first guitar I've built on spec in a few years. Like all my instruments it's traditionally built, solid top, fan bracing, etc.. Its voice is super loud and sustaining, with round warm singing trebles, firm mid range, and really deep strong bass, with some of the pretty dryness or purity of tone that maple imparts.

More photos etc on my website: http://www.scottclassicalguitars.com/available_now.html

Anything I forgot to mention? Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks!

I own a "sister" guitar to this one and it is marvelous. Fantastic workmanship and great sound. Mine has the sound-port with magnetic cover,

That looks great Doug. I like the no-soundport design. Bring it to the next GFA if you still have it....

Glad you approve :) ... hard to know what to do these days, many people want a sound port but a lot don't. Same goes for position dots. :?

I have other ideas stewing for the GFA guitars this time, and hopefully this one's found a good home before then!

Congrats Doug! This guitar looks gorgeous.

To anyone thing about this guitar, I couldn't speak more highly of my Scott guitar or my interactions with Doug. While my guitar is not exactly a sister (it's a cedar/RW , with a sound port), it is simply a joy to see, to hear, and to play. And I bet this beautiful spruce/maple one is equally great. If I had the money I'd be on the ferry over to pick it up myself.

Someone is going to be very lucky to pick this one up.

Cheers, Chris

I've seen and played douglass's guitars in person and even compared them head to head with other high end instruments. Excellent craftsmanship, beautiful traditional aesthetic, and these things really pump out some serious power. I mean they have the dynamic range of double top/lattice brace guitars but with a more traditional sound profile as one might expect from a fan braced instrument.

I'm listening to this guitar on youtube right now.
I love the sound!
I usually don't like back and side made of maple.

Thanks everyone for the compliments and positive feedback.

Bradford Werner recently played the guitar and offered to make a video of it for his blog, I think it's ok to link it here? ...

http://www.thisisclassicalguitar.com/do ... sale-2017/

If that doesn't work his site is called This is Classical Guitar .com, and 2017 Douglass Scott classical guitar should be easy to find from there.

Thanks,
