Real Giuliani 120 RH studies?

Post by Vlad Kosulin » Wed Oct 06, 2010 7:35 pm

I hope this is right topic for reference library 8)
It looks like the web has few differing sources all promoted as 120 Right Hand Studies by Mauro Giuliani.
Here are some:
http://www.stormthecastle.com/classical ... t-hand.pdf
http://www.guitarteacher.com/media/PDF/ ... tudies.pdf

The big question which has to be answered once and forever: which are fake/"improved"/whatever, and which are true 120 Right Hand Studies by Giuliani?
Regards,
Vlad
(still testing various strings with 2006 Sebastian Stenzel and Olinda OC-300)

Giuliani 120 RH studies are very useful and the pieces at the end of his Op. 1 are really good.

If you are still looking for this, Bruno, go to the free scores on this site, and Giuliani Op 1 is probably what you want.

For those still looking for the proper link to Giuliani's Op.1 (includes the 120 RH studies as well as LH studies) from the Boije collection, this is the current one:

Great if you're working on 19th century repertoire and techniques. Chris Berg's
"Giuliani Revisited" is a nice update with about 148 patterns, and a reorganization that makes a lot of sense.
Lester Devoe Flamenco Negra
Lester Devoe Flamenco Blanca
Aparicio Flamenco Blanca with RMC pickup
Bartolex 7-string with RMC pickup
Giannini 7-string with Shadow pickup
Sal Pace 7-string archtop

The OP question was "which are true 120 Right Hand Studies by Giuliani?" - and the link someone provided ages ago was dead (because or website reorganizations, I guess). So I just provided the correct/updated link to that same original Giuliani op.1 containing the 120 RH studies.

Ok I am trying to guess. The ^ means rest stroke? The fingerlings are shown. What do the dots mean?
All this time I thought I was making music; it was making me.

No, the ^ is thumb, the dots are fingers - one dot for i, two (:) for m, and three for a.

The numbers are not fingers but fret positions.
