2017-08-19 Classical Guitar Festival - West Dean College (England)

Post by Penny Sydenham » Fri Oct 07, 2016 11:08 am

Greetings to all Classical Guitar players from West Dean College, near Chichester in the South of England, a specialist centre for education and training in conservation and in the creative arts. The historic College, set in idyllic surroundings of Gardens and Parkland in the heart of the South Downs National Park, was once owned by Edward James, patron of Surrealists Dali and Magritte.

We now have the dates of our CLASSICAL GUITAR FESTIVAL next year - 19-24 August 2017. Booking opens in December, but here is advance information which we hope will interest you. They'll be daily repertoire and technique workshops, two individual lessons per participant, ensemble playing, Guitar Open Day, Lectures, Masterclasses, informal student concerts, Guitar Orchestra and concerts by Pavel Steidl, Vincent Lindsey-Clark, Gaelle Solal and the Katona twins. We also have Guitar weekends in Spring 2017. Take a look at http://www.westdean.org.uk.

Please do get in touch if you would like to know more. We hope to welcome you here in 2017! :D :

I'll be at the West Dean Festival for the open day on 20th August (in fact I'll be arriving on the Saturday evening as I have a ticket for Pavel Steidl!)

I'll have 2 guitars to exhibit - my 100th guitar (photos here) and another non-tropical guitar with walnut back, sides and neck, and laburnum bridge (photos here).

Do come and say hello if you're at the festival.
