Wow! Listening as I type...this is fantastic. The piece sounds technically fiendish but also a great piece of music. The treatment here is almost pianistic (a compliment!). I'll be listening to this a lot.

Thanks. the piece comes from a set of ten homage etudes which explore most aspects of technique -this one is obviously arpeggios!

Hi Denian

they are wonderful pieces...the score is available too. I enjoy hearing the features that Ricardo considers as he writes "hommages" to composers. I like to look at it, but thats about all i can do with these pieces. Ricardo is a helluva player.

Jonathan Leathwood sometimes plays these too.

So good. Thanks, leyenda. My favorite from this set is actually not a part of the etudes, but included with them, the Death of Icarus. Similar arpeggio and harmonic treatment in that one. These pieces deserve a much wider airing than they often get.

Oh this is so cool! I've never heard any of his etudes, but am very familiar with his technique book. Thanks so much for posting!

Lovely playing.

I had no idea about these studies, I'll be very interested to look them out.
