Thanks, Big bird. There are a couple more of his pieces I'd like to learn.

Very nice. I'm thinking of getting the Q. Did you put any reverb on this? It sounds great. And I love the Traphagen sound. Playing is of course excellent too.
All this time I thought I was making music; it was making me.

I did nothing to the audio. I did choose a low-light setting for the video on the Q, which helped, but the audio is exactly the way it was recorded. The Q was 5 or 6 feet away. By the way - I see you are a fly fisherman. Dake is a big fly fisherman. He only fishes for steelhead.

Good job here.
I've been working on this piece for about 2 years and, like so many of his pieces, it's about getting the feel and the flow right, and you go a long way to achieving that. Kudos.

Of course the terrifying bit is the descent, descrbed as "harp like" by AY in the score IIRC. You should feel proud because I think you did a far better job than one renowned guitarist on that one: Search "Kaki King Andecy live Berkeley" on YT and you'll see what I mean. To be fair, that looks like an impromptu audience recording, but shows we are all fallible and gives hope to bedroom noodlers like me.

I have re-thought the left hand fingering on the descent a couple of times. I had not considered that the "harp like" notation applied to the whole section, but thought it applied to the opening measure of it due to the over-lapping of the open string notes. However, I can see how at least that feeling should be applied to the whole section and it explains some of the fingering choices York made. That will inform my practice as I continue to work on the piece. I may explore the fingering a bit more with that in mind. That section is obviously needs more work.

Oops - forgot to comment on the "death stare" - aptly described. Glad not to have been the inspiration for that! Segovia famously did the same thing on a number of occasions.

Great job! That's a fun piece, I'm still working on the descending sections as well.
