This does not look like a difficult piece until you try to play, hehe.
The Tango from the Suite is very interesting as well. Typical of M. Pujol - a kind of driving rhythm.

Thanks everyone. Five and a half years later, I'm surprised to see this still has legs. Shortly after this was done I had the great privilege of a lesson with Maestro Pujol himself. A kind, generous, and supportive teacher as well as a wonderful composer and performer.

I had the opportunity to see him perform at Arizona State University a few years back and concur with your description of him.

Your interpretation brings out the sadness and despair of this piece, but also some optimism. Feels very honest, and stirs away from being melodramatic.
