Does anyone else like Steely Dan?

I like that song "Reeling in the years" and heard it tonight while I on my way to the store. I never knew the lyrics really or even the name of the song, but I've heard it on the radio for decades now! I love classic rock! Hey "classic" rock has something in common with "classic" guitar!
"GLASSYNAILS" on Youtoob for my "no edit" - "no fakery" audio recordings. Just me, my Alhambra 7p spruce, and an Olympus ls-10 portable recorder.

Used to be big fan. Some great guitar playing and a mastery of the craft of writing and recording.

Great contribution there!

Fan of Aja myself, mainly for Steve Gadd's efforts.

Reelin's not my favorite, but lots of great songs. I saw them in LA four years ago, they were awesome. Funk, reggae, jazz, so many grooves. Their productions are considered some of the best in the business. Tight.
All this time I thought I was making music; it was making me.

I'm a fan of Aja and Gaucho especially. I mean, come on, Aja isn't really a rock song; more of a suite. Anyway, I'm the only one on the staff at our bookstore who likes them. Walter Becker shops there on occasion. Never when I'm around. Very quiet man. Our staff is unimpressed. They prefer Kim Gordon. People who can actually write music and play instruments don't impress them.

Yes and my band plays a bunch of their songs. Great fusion of jazz and rock.

The guitar solo on Third World Man is one of my favorites. Very tasty. I still can't figure out what the song is about; maybe someone here can explain.
