it is time for me to leave this nice forum for good

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

I've always liked your posts even if I don't comment on them. Don't assume that the lack of replies to a comment means nobody has liked it. Far from it. Rather than deleting your account, you should just take a break and leave yourself the option to come back whenever you feel like it. There is a therapeutical communicative value in expressing one's thoughts in a public place where you know they are heard by many, even if none acknowledge them.

Andrei, you must, of course, do what you think is best and is good for you.

I echo other peoples thoughts and comments about keeping a presence here - at least

for a while. What you have to say is truly valuable and the forum would be poorer without it.

Andrei, you obviously have a lot of fans here, and I'm one too. I hope that you reconsider. You add great perspectives to a lot of threads. This forum thrives in part because excellent musicians are there for people like me to learn from. In that sense, you never waste your time here. You never know who you've helped and inspired.

No! If you leave it will be a great loss. You should not consider yourself as an alien, you simply have ideas that are not mainstream, and honestly a forum like this, and any social group in general, needs "aliens" to bring "un vent frais". Imagine if everybody thought the same way, acted the same way, played music the same way.... Booooring! And sterile, lifeless too. Nothing can evoluate and improve without something new and different being brought.

What I like about your posts, Andrei, is that they're direct yet written in the manner of a gentleman. Also that there are links to your playing, which is something everyone should do.

Reading the thread, Andrei, it seems that you may have more daily readers and supporters here than you had thought.

because I am complete alien here in all ways... in all views...
and I am not a fighter and do not promote any ideas etc.
I feel like someone talking with myself in a crowd ...
and I have a lot of work i need to finish before I am gone.
I'd better do my work.
and nobody need my talk here anyway...
I did not help to anyone here, nor I did not say anything valuable for anybody here.
just wasting my time and time of others...
without me here will be more agreement and peace :)
So - it is good and positive for this forum if I left.
I know exactly how you feel, Andrei. You are not the only one having sad feelings about this forum. All the best for you!

Andrei,
Although I am new to this Forum, I have been a player for over 50 years. When much younger, I once interviewed the late, great Jazz tenor saxophonist Von Freeman at the Enterprise Lounge in Chicago for an article in the Arts section of a newspaper. After the interview, I shared my impressions with John DeRoule, Chicago trumpet player, arranger, and conductor. I told John that although Von was a great artist and performer, I was disappointed that he wasn't more philosophical/articulate in the interview. After a thorough verbal thrashing, he turned to me and said: It doesn't matter what a musician says . . . it's how he plays. That has stuck with me the rest of my life and I will pass this gift along to you. Leave the words to the philosophers and writers, play music. Playing again . . . Rognvald

I liked your posts. Maybe I don't say much or enough. Sorry to see anyone feel the way you do. Post on my drunken post before you go! I don't normally post a lot perhaps you now point out I should post more supportive stuff, not just nod in agreement and be silent appreciator of music clips and stuff... I'm terrible. But mostly shy. Only not tonight cos I'm drunk and having fun with Sor.
