What music are you listening to right now?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

This http://themildeast.bandcamp.com/releases I do have the CD! Jo and Christian run my local open mic and jam sessions and are very supportive of all genres and players. They're sticking with their day jobs and giving all the profit from the CD to a local wildlife charity, 2 of the tracks were inspired by Norfolk wildlife.

If you like it and have a face book page please consider 'liking' it https://www.facebook.com/themildeast/

Hope you enjoy it.

Well, not exactly right now, but I have just been to a recital by Xuefei Yang.

Fantastic performer and in a fantastic venue about 30 minutes or so from where I live. Epsom House is a colonial era building whose current owners are maintaing a long tradition of holding musical evenings in their restored house. There is a large room upstairs known as the ballroom that seats about 80 people. You are met with a glass of champagne and nibbles. At interval its dessert and coffee.

As to the recital she played Bach (the E major lute suite), a selection of Spanish and Brazilian pieces and one traditional Chinese piece that was exquisite. All in all, a very enjoyable evening. Tomorrow I am off to the masterclass she is holding for some of the guitar students at the local conservatorium, as an observer only.

I've pretty much given up listening to music. I used to have Radio 3 on all day every day 30 years ago. Then I had CDs I listened to regularly. 10 years ago I'd listen, among other things, to k. d. lang's All You Can Eat every night when I got in from work. Now I buy a CD, listen to it once and shelve it. I have on order a CD of Bach violin concertos and the new two-disc version of Café Madrid. Last thing I listened to was Cheap Thrills by Janis Joplin, but that was months ago.

No idea, although a large part of it must be because I read a lot and I can't read and listen to music at the same time. But I'm listening to this right now:

Bach violin concertos BWV 1041-3.

That was over quickly. Now I'm listening to Callas sing Bellini's Norma.
