Well, not exactly right now, but I have just been to a recital by Xuefei Yang.
Fantastic performer and in a fantastic venue about 30 minutes or so from where I live. Epsom House is a colonial era building whose current owners are maintaing a long tradition of holding musical evenings in their restored house. There is a large room upstairs known as the ballroom that seats about 80 people. You are met with a glass of champagne and nibbles. At interval its dessert and coffee.
As to the recital she played Bach (the E major lute suite), a selection of Spanish and Brazilian pieces and one traditional Chinese piece that was exquisite. All in all, a very enjoyable evening. Tomorrow I am off to the masterclass she is holding for some of the guitar students at the local conservatorium, as an observer only.
