What Are You Eating Right Now?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

A home-made mince pie.
And yes, I know it's far too early, but they are so nice!

My son's a commercial fisherman and he brought back scads of halibut for our freezer just this week. I've been chowing down and I'm still not bored of it. BTW - I used to drink coffee all day with plenty of sugar, and I was 60 lbs. overweight. I switched to jasmine tea and other herbal teas without any sugar and over the course of a year I dropped about 25-30 lbs. It really is the extra sugar in our diet that gets us so bad off. I've gone down a shoe size, my feet don't hurt anymore and I have more energy.

What's your recipe or was it store-bought?

The pie was bought, but the mash was home-made.
Sweat a large onion in much butter, wash and peel potato, simmer potato skins in milk. Mash potato. Mix together milk (minus skins), potatoes, butter and onions. Season to taste. You could add nutmeg, but I didn't.

Re: pie, if you want to make yourself - I cut them up, then soak in milk for at least 24 hours. Milder flavour.

Whoops! Re: cutting up, I was referring to kidney, not potatoes. Sorry.
