Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left.

If I could only own/listen to one album, this would be it.

Any of Elliott Smith's albums come a close second.

Unless I overlooked. Nobody mentioned Buckethead yet. He also made a couple of fantastic albums.

Trout Mask Replica had been far and away my favourite album since I was 16 (1976), but I realised recently that I hadn't really listened to it for maybe 20 years. There is no other contender. Maybe Welfare State with Lol Coxhill. Trailing closely behind and in no particular order - Star Sailor by Tim Buckley, Mingus by Joni Mitchell, Faust Tapes, Lorca by Tim Buckley, All You Can Eat k d lang. More recent stuff I accept but don't bother ranking. Favourite live abum? Used to be Deep Purple Made in Japan, but if I had to have one live CD it would be Gong Live etc. No, Gong would be my second choice, this would be my first choice: http://www.discogs.com/Various-V/release/1593038
1975 Calatayud y Gisbert, Yamaha CG131S.

I love Tony Bennett but musically his zenith was when he played at Carnegie Hall.

What all the great albums have in common is the iconic artwork/photo on the album cover. Nothing beats the soul of vinyl: I would admire the cover and then gently inspect the vinyl inside. There's even a smell to it I remember.

He not as good as he once was but neither am I. I expect I'll get to a point when I won't remember how good he was and my hearing will be bad enough, so I'll think he's better than he is. It's a yin/yang thing.

The soundtrack from "Round Midnight" by Herbie Hancock, which made me discover my love for Jazz.
