I would take:
* African Baroque (Sibongile Mngoma) -- this is kind of a crossover . . .
* Gypsy Passion (various)
* Nights From The Alhambra (Loreena McKennitt)
* anything from Twila Paris
* The Lamb Trilogy

:casque:
Whenever I am not ready for my music lesson, I call it 'facing the music'.

Anything by Queen (except that horrible 80's concoction Hot Space).
They really, really rock.
Kim Lissarrague 2008 Lattice-braced Guitar.
Now I'm truly in guitar heaven.

I really love Mingus by Joni Mitchell (along with all of her other 70s stuff), but a lot of people hate it with a vengeance. I don't understand that.

I've just joined delcamp so I'm posting to this quite a while after the initial setup.

Like many others, I have many albums I like and it's difficult to really pick out favourites.
One that I particularly like that has some nice fingerpicking guitar that might be of passing interest to CG people is:-
Bruce Cockburn – Dancing in the dragon’s jaws

Others off the top of my head are as follows:-

Badly drawn boy – have you fed the fish?
Live – Throwing Copper
Sword – land of the brave
Mary my hope - Musuem
Dream theater – all!!!
Van Halen – ou812, fair warning
King’s X – Out of the silent planet, dogman
Max Webster - all of them
Rush – all!!!
Frank Zappa – roxy and elsewhere, apostrophe
Joe Satriani – Surfin with the alien, Flying in a blue dream, heck everything
ZZ top – tejas, tres hombres
AC/DC – Powerage, highway to hell, back in black, for those about to rock,
Opeth – all!!!
Les Negresses Vertes – Famille nombreuse
Gil Scott Heron – Spirits
Aimee Mann – Whatever
Stevie Salas – all!!!
Masters of reality – all!!
Living Colour – vivid
Prince – sign of the times, around the world in a day
Red hot chilli peppers – Mother’s milk, Uplift mofo party plan
Al di meola/Paco De Lucia/John Mclaughlin – Friday night in San Francisco
Talking Heads – Little creatures, remain in light
Manic Street Preachers – Gold against the soul
Rainbow – Long live rock n roll, Rising
Scorpions - Blackout
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
Nick Cave and the bad seeds - No more shall we part/The lyre of Orpheus+other side

But I'm sure there are quite a few others I'll think of later on....

I listed Dave Evans CD 'Sad Pig Dance' above, but there are so many albums listed on this thread I suspect noone will have checked them all! So here is a link to 'Stagefright', which is probably Dave's best known track from that CD.
