How about giving us some useful info? What did they do? Intonation/bad sound?

I just got a set of bad strings for my guitar, but that doesn't mean they are bad for all guitars.

They were bland, bass and trebles. D'Addario sound much brighter.

D'Addario what? Without being specific that is not much more helpful.

If EJ45 sound less bland and brighter, then 'yikes'.

Luthier makes very descent, economically priced strings and their basses are quite good. I suspect it's your guitar that's horrible, not the strings.

:)

Jack may well have a point there.
I've tried the Dark Silvers and they aren't a bad string by any means. If I remember correctly they're a little finer/thinner than the D'Adds so maybe he didn't like that or he didn't give them time to settle - "they aren't like my old D'Add J45's so they must be bad" sort of thing.
Sounds like his search for the perfect string continues.

Getting better bit by bit, day by day.
